Removing old Boat At The Waterside Green
We have recently removed a very old boat used as a planter sitting on the green. It had become a bit of an eyesore so it was decided to remove it. We have re-seeded the patch left with new grass seed.28th June 2024
Town Flower Watering Program
The Team have been watering the flower planters, beds and hanging baskets from 7am every day since they have been planted at the beginning of June. This program will continue through till the end of the summer going into September. We are committed to keeping the town as colorful as possible.28th June 2024
Grass Cutting at Churchtown Cemetery.
The Service Delivery Team have been out around the the Town cutting many grass areas. One are we are keen to keep looking nice is Churchtown Cemetery. Take a look at the other images showing the extent of the work via the link.This area also extends to the allotments which are also cut and maintained by the department.

Pathway Grass Cutting At Pillmere Estate
We have started the work cutting back the grass edges to the pathways, green areas, the large green and surrounding open spaces. This will take time over the next week.It will look lovely when its done!
St Stephens Churchyard Grass Cutting
There has been a lot of work taking place over the last week cutting back the long grass in the Churchyard. We have almost completed this time consuming task. Once finished it wont be long before we have to start from the beginning again.17th June 2024
Ashton Way Play Park
The play parks on Pillmere are another part of our management for the estate. We have been busy cutting these areas ready for the weekend.Hope the rain stays away so the children can enjoy using the parks.
Round And Round The Roundabouts
Part of our program is to maintain three roundabouts in Saltash, Waitrose, Pillmere and Latchbrook. This can be quite a challenge with busy traffic to contend with. The Team are out at 6am to tackle the busiest being Waitrose. You may have seen our staff carrying out this work making the roundabout neat and tidy. Please drive carefully if you see them it would be very much appreciated.Back At St Stephens Churchyard.
Now that No Mow May is over we have been back at St Stephens Churchyard hard at work cutting the large grass areas. This takes time at this time of year, however the effort is worth the wait. You will see we are still trying to keep some wild areas to the edge of the grounds as we still want to encourage wildlife the this location.11th June 2024
D-Day Beacon Lighting At Ashtorre Rock
To commemorate the 80th Year of the D-Day landings, Saltash Town Council carried out a remembrance evening with the Mayor and Councilors at Ashtorre Rock. Along with a minutes silence there was speeches a band and a loan piper playing. At 9.15pm the beacon was light to remember all of those who had fought for us all.Beautiful Hanging Baskets
Have you seen the beautiful hanging baskets that have now been placed down Fore Street and the Waterfront? We think the add some wonderful colour to the Town. You may see our Team out early each morning watering the baskets and bedding plants from 6am to keep them looking wonderful.New Bench On St Stephens Road
We have been working in partnership with Cornwall Councilors Hilary Frank and Sheila Lennox-Boyed through their Cornwall Council Community Chest Grant. This was agreed at the August 2023 services meeting under Minute number 60/23/24. We have now fitted a new bench on St Stephens Road replacing the old damaged one. A commemorative plaque will be added soon. We hope you will enjoy using this bench.Transforming The Town With Flowers
We are very pleased to have been able to start the transformation of planting out the Town flowerbeds and planters. The Peace Garden is looking lovely already. We have more to do so keep your eye on the rest of the Town.17th May 2024
Summer Planting
Flowers and plants are springing up in the Town.Summer Is On Its Way !
We have been very busy planting the summer flowers through the Town Centre this week. This year we have chosen a mixture of bedding plants, herbs and evergreen shrubs. We hope this will add some colour and texture to the planters and flower beds for you to enjoy. We have been working in partnership with Tartendown Nursery who have been helping the Team with advise and planting.Preparation For The Mayor Making Celebration.
The Service Delivery Department has been hard at work preparing for the New Mayors day taking place today. The peace garden and surrounding areas have been cut cleaned and litter cleared away.Cutting Of The Play Parks On Pillmere Estate
While the weather has been on our side the play parks on Grassmere and other locations on the Pillmere estate have been cut. These areas are not part of the No Mow May due to there use.9th May 2024
Creating Wild Green Areas At St Stephens Churchyard
Over the next few months we will be trailing some locations to create some green areas to encourage bees, insects and wildlife. We have started this project in St Stephens Church Cemetery. We are looking to have more areas with wild flowers to add some colour around the Town.Gate Repair At Churchtown Cemetery
We have been working hard today to repair the broken gate post at Church Town Cemetery. Not the easiest of jobs but it will look great when its finished.1st May 2024
No Mow May
The service delivery Team will be taking part in the NO MOW MAY in various locations around Saltash. We do wish to point out that this won’t apply to some areas like the cemeteries, however some areas, edges, corners or around the base of trees will be left to encourage wildlife and natural plants to flourish. We will also be looking at some re-wilding areas and wild flower locations throughout the year. This is a positive step toward helping the local environment in the Town and encourage anyone to try this even in your own garden space.1st May 2024
Michael Stephens Joins The Service Delivery Team
We have recently expanded the Service Delivery Team with Michael Stephens joining us. He has a lot of experience in ground works, general building, fencing and machinery and we are very pleased to have him on board.The Team has also recently successfully completed a certified training course through Corserv for the ride on mower and pedestrian mowers. The staff are continuously monitored to make sure they are fully trained on all the equipment we operate so that we can work safely in maintaining Saltash Town and surrounding areas.
